Courtney + Sean | Binghamton, NY Wedding Video

Some of my favorite weddings to do are those that are family members of previous couples I’ve worked with. So I was looking forward to Courtney’s wedding for a long time, as she is the sister of a June 2019 bride, Shannon. I’m getting pretty comfortable in Binghamton now with weddings as I travel down there several times a year so I was also happy to add to my little Binghamton circle of couples. And maybe it sounds so silly and simple, but I also feel much more connected with couples when they interact with me on social media. Courtney and I regularly chatted back and forth on Instagram for more than a year leading up to her wedding and all of those little interactions add up and really help me feel prepared and excited for the wedding day.

The day started at Courtney and Sean’s house, where Sean and his guys were getting ready. When I got there, Sean’s sister-in-law was presenting a cardboard cutout of Sean’s brother who is currently deployed. Sean and his dad absolutely loved the cardboard cutout and it definitely had a fun and regular presence throughout the day. After some fun with the cutout and FaceTiming with his brother, Sean got dressed and read his letter from Courtney. If you’re new around here, I LOVE letters on a wedding day!

Then I headed over to Courtney’s parent’s house where Courtney was getting ready with her girls. I love this house because this was the same house that Shannon got ready in and you can tell how important this house is to their parents. There’s a tree in the front yard that they planted the year Shannon was born and their mom talks a lot about how this was their childhood home: the home they grew up in. After Courtney got dressed and read her letter from Sean, we of course needed to go outside to get some photos and video in front of the home.

Next, we headed to Links at Hiawatha Landing where their ceremony and reception would be taking place, But first! First Look! Sean and Courtney had their first look overlooking the golf course and it was so super sweet! I absolutely loved Sean’s reaction when he turned around and saw her. It was such a beautiful spot for photos and video so we had some fun with them along with their wedding party before the ceremony.

I LOVED the backdrop for their ceremony. The altar they built was so beautiful. I also loved the reading that Courtney’s grandmother read during the ceremony – it happens to be the same reading that we had at our own wedding 11 years ago!

On to the reception, I loved so many of the small things. Like the comic strip style table numbers at each table, the dessert table, and the lemon details throughout the day. Similar to Shannon’s wedding, they didn’t have a cake but had an ice cream truck come instead. FUN! I love when people add a little twist on the standard traditions! And of course, we can’t forget the awesome toasts given by many people in the wedding party. It’s so awesome to see friends and family members who care so much about their people and can share some touching words about them. And I may or may not be crying behind my camera when her parents give a toast…

Finally, the night ended with some EPIC sunset shots. We got a couple of golf carts and found an awesome spot where the sunset was so beautiful. I got some really, really cool silhouette shots that you’ll probably be seeing on my social media for a long time. That and some dancing really ended my night on a high note and I drove home with a huge smile on my face. Thanks for having me Courtney and Sean! Your wedding was so fun and I loved doing your video!
